PRESS RELEASE for the upcoming 27th Annual Fall Cancer Survivor's Luncheon

POINTE COUPEE CANCER SURVIVORS' AND FRIENDS ANNOUNCE THE  FALL LUNCHEON ON OCTOBER 12,2022, IN MEMORY OF BOBBIE BIZETTE.  REPRESENTATIVE JEREMY LACOMBE TO BE THE GUEST SPEAKER.

 

     The Pointe Coupee Cancer Survivors' and Friends Committee along with the Pointe Coupee Health Services Foundation announces the Fall Cancer Survivors Luncheon on October 12, 2022 at the Scott Civic Center.  The event will be held in memory of Bobbie Bizette who chaired the luncheon committee and event for many years.  Bobbie was a 20 year cancer survivor and understood the hardships associated with this devastating disease.   She worked tirelessly to help those in the community fighting cancer, imparting her time, talent and compassion.  Bobbie passed away in January 2020 leaving a void in our community.

     Representative Jeremy Lacombe will be the keynote speaker and honored guest at the luncheon.  Jeremy and his family have also worked relentlessly in raising funds for individuals battling cancer.   The Janelle Lacombe Fund was started by the Lacombe family in memory of Jeremy's mother who passed away from cancer 22 years ago.   The Lacombe Family sponsors the Fordoche Coed Ball Tournament annually to raise funds for the Janelle Lacombe Fund.

     A raffle will be held this year as a fund raiser with proceeds going to the Pointe Coupee Health Services Foundation and Janelle Lacombe Fund.  Monies from the raffle and luncheon along with donations, raise funds to assists Pointe Coupee Parish cancer patients with monetary needs related to cancer treatment, unreimbursed needs related to travel, and medication co-pays.
